Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded chicken (for extra flavor when you use leftover beer can chicken for some extra smoke flavor!)

  • 1 block colby jack cheese (8oz)

  • 1 block pepper jack cheese (8oz)

  • 1 block cream cheese (16 oz)

  • Powdered ranch

  • Bacon bits

  • 1 cup ranch dressing

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce

  • 1 aluminum pan (for easier cleanup)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat smoker to 300 degrees with pellets/wood of choice

Step 2

Toss all the ingredients into the aluminum pan (sprinkle the desired amount of ranch powder on top of the other ingredients)

Step 3

Place in smoker for 30-45 minutes (or until fully melted) with pellet/wood of choice. You may have to stir it up around the 30-minute mark

Step 4

When fully melted, pull from the smoker stir and serve

My thoughts on this recipe...

My wife showed me a video of how to make this and it was so simple I HAD to try it. I had made a beer can of chicken earlier in the day so it made having the 2 cups of chicken even easier. Of course, this was the one time we did not have powdered ranch ready to go so I used some my neighbor had. When I was finished cooking the favor got repaid by giving them some of the dip back which they raved about!

I will 100% be making this again next time friends or family comes over for a flavor-packed appetizer.
